Ha! Those are all great! I recently saw this one and it stopped me in my tracks: "Don't live the same year 75 times and call it a life." I'm a very restless person and feel the urge to reinvent my life every decade or so. I'm currently in a new transition. Things are changing for me again, so that really spoke to me. I also like this one: "Dear Past, Thanks for all the lessons. Dear Future, I think I'm ready."

I love some of these!! For me, I really like a lot of mottos. I have to say this one is my favorite though:
"Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is to keep going when you really feel like giving up"
I really like it because it shows that even if you want to give up, and you keep going you'll succeed at some point.

Some motto's that have helped me:
Nothing can bring you peace but yourself. & Every wall is a door. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. - Helen Keller

"I survived because the fire inside of me burned brighter than the fire around me". This has got me through some tough times.

I once inspired someone to help at a SCA event by saying: do what you can and sometimes the best thing to do is get out of the way.
I say sometimes that "life is." and people say is what? and I say it just IS.
But my best motto is "Life is an elephant." It was a quote, used to explain simile in a junior high grammar book and I have never found the source of it. But the more I say it the more I believe in it: Life is like the blind men and the elephant, we can't ever grasp exactly what it is and to each of us it is different. Cue Joan Collins music now: I really don't know life at all.

I would have to say mine is "You only live once..." Though, I believe in reincarnation, so... lol. I guess I could modify it to: "You only life this life once"!

Mainly : "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I also really kept the poem "The Desiderata" close to me since grade 11 when I first saw it. It has continued to turn up in the most unusual places to light my path. I realize it's not a motto but it might be of interest to someone who has never heard it before so I will post it: "Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. “” Desiderata by Max Ehrmann. *****Right now I am working on gracefully surrendering the things of youth-damn it ****
