And a happy one to you, too, Mark. It's hard to believe the fall is knocking on the door. Harvest time.
I remember when I was a young mother and harvest came around, I was busy digging potatoes and making apple butter and all the other things that are involved with saving foods for winter use. Picking up walnuts and filberts to dry for use in Christmas treats, too. Usually about this time of year the kids would be planning what their Halloween costume was going to be and I'd start thinking up patterns, etc.
This year I have a Halloween costume project for my daughter's domestic partner. She asked me to do some beadwork on a snarling wolf mask she has so i'm going to do Huichol style beadwork on it. And then just for another neat touch, I'll be creating some blood dripping from its fangs using teardrop shaped garnet beads hanging from strings of silver-lined red beads. I can't wait to see it finished.
It's kind of off topic, but I thought reminiscing about it might be okay, since it's coming into this time of year.

Happy Lammas to you all.
Reminiscing is a good thing, Griz. Helps me get into the spirit of things. I hope you will post a pic somewhere of the snarling wolf mask beadwork. When we were kids, we just dug through closets and old trunks to find whatever we could to "make a costume" Gypsy stuff, witch stuff, baby stuff, ghost stuff, etc...a "HOBO" was always easy.
Our weather here has been unusually "fall like" for the past few days. We have had the windows and doors open and the attic fan blowing in the mornings and in the evenings. I don't think it will last, but I thought it was nice just around the Sabbat.

I didn't think that that was my problem yesterday, but I am very sensitive to Fall and yesterday I very embarrassingly burst into tears. I chalked it up to being exhausted but maybe because it was Lammas. I usually get hit about mid-August, the weather shifts and it knocks me off my pins.....Rescue Remedy to the rescue!

I can always tell the change of seasons just because of something about the way everything looks. There's just that subtle shift in the way the sun shines, I think.

Lammas was beautiful. Although, this time of year is like a double edged sword to me. I love harvesting all the amazing fruits, veggies and herbs, and starting to make oils, salves, teas and lotions for the upcoming months. The downside is watching the sweet corn stalks fading and starting to crisp, bringing in tropicals that aren't weathering the low temps we're beginning to get at night and throwing a jacket on in place of shorts in the early morning. The first thoughts of cold weather are creeping in and planning cold weather projects to keep me busy at home.

Honestly for me I love to see the changes of the seasons and I've never been a summer person, I find the heat just makes me feel exhausted and unfocused but I deeply love September when, here at least, it's still warmish and yet there is this freshness about things that makes me feel just at one with tbibgs. Its usually about September I drag out my telescope and reconnect with the moon and a series of bright deep sky objects called the Messier objects that are big and easily found in a little telescope. It's been a ritual of mine for twenty years or more and I find with each passing year, it gains in meaning. Mark

As I say elasewhere I love the feeling of transition and Lammas echoes and celebrates that beautifully. I Have to say I love the artwork you've used for your picture and somehow that is very Lammas like 😎
